What’s New
Email-Friendly Video Thumbnails
Generate ready-to-use thumbnails designed specifically for email campaigns.
Each thumbnail:
- Includes an automatic play button overlay
- Links to your chosen destination URL
- Is optimized for fast loading across email clients
- Can be downloaded or copied with ready-to-use embed code
Since most email clients don’t support inline video playback, this method provides a reliable way to encourage viewers to click through to your video page.
Thumbnail Format Options
Choose between two formats:
- JPG (Default): Uses your video’s static thumbnail or first frame.
- GIF: Uses your animated thumbnail or automatically generates one from thefirst 10 seconds of the video.
Flexible Linking
Each thumbnail can link to:
- Your Vidalytics video preview page, or
- Any custom landing page or funnel URL.
Built-In Thumbnail Customization
You can easily customize:
- Thumbnail size(default max: 450px)
- Destination URL
- Format (JPG or GIF)
Aspect ratio is always preserved for optimal display.

How to Use It
- Open your video and go to Vid Settings.
- Click Embed.
- Select the Email Embedtab.
- Choose your thumbnail type: JPG(static thumbnail);GIF(animated thumbnail or first 10 seconds of video)
- Adjust thumbnail size if needed (default max 450px).
- Confirm or update your destination URL.
- Preview the thumbnail and check file size.
- Download the image or copy the embed-ready code.
- Paste it into your email editor (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.).

Not Supported
- Uploading external custom thumbnails
- Inline video playback within email clients
- Editing GIFs beyond the first 10 seconds (unless using an animated thumbnail)

Edge Cases & Expected Behavior
- If a GIF hasn’t been generated yet, the system automatically creates one.
- If the video resolution is smaller than 450px, the real video dimensions are used.
- Oversized manual size selections automatically reset to valid dimensions.
- Large GIFs are automatically compressed.
- A placeholder appears while GIF generation is processing.
- Copy-to-clipboard works in most major email editors (Gmail, Apple Mail), but may not work in every client.
